Om Yoga International

About Om Yoga International

A traditional yoga school in Tapovan, Rishikesh — teaching authentic practice, structured certification and disciplined residential immersions since 2010.

Our story — since 2010

Built for serious students, not short weekends.

Om Yoga International was founded in 2010 by Sh. Radhika Sharan ji in Tapovan, the forested village on the banks of the Ganges in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh. The school began with a single conviction: that authentic yoga transmission requires time, discipline and a residential environment — not a weekend retreat format.

The curriculum draws directly from classical Indian texts — Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Upanishads. Every course at Om Yoga is designed to give students not just a certificate, but a practice they can sustain and a methodology they can teach with genuine confidence.

Fifteen years later, the school has certified over 1,500 students from 48+ countries across 8 course pathways — from the 200-hour foundation to the 500-hour complete teacher training.

Our principles

Six values that shape every course we teach.

01

Traditional lineage

Teaching is rooted in classical Indian texts — Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Upanishads — not modern fitness frameworks.

02

Individual attention

Every student receives direct correction, feedback and mentorship. Class size is limited by design — not economics.

03

Residential discipline

The 5:30 am schedule, sattvic meals and quiet campus create the immersive environment that classroom-only training cannot replicate.

04

Practical competence

Students leave able to teach — not just recite sequences. Practice teaching, adjustment labs and live feedback are built into every course.

05

Honest pathways

RYT, prenatal and specialty courses are presented transparently — their scope, requirements and outcomes are explained clearly before enrolment.

06

Long-term relationship

Graduates join a school community with lifetime certificate support, continued faculty access and career guidance after the course ends.

Student experiences

What graduates say after completing a course.

The teachers gave individual attention every day. I arrived for a certificate and left with a daily practice I can actually continue and share. The small batch made all the difference.

Anika R. Germany · 200 Hour Yoga TTC

The small batch size made the training personal and thorough. Alignment, pranayama and philosophy were explained with real patience. The daily schedule was demanding but every session felt purposeful.

Meera S. India · 200 Hour Yoga TTC

Rishikesh, the schedule and the teachers created a serious learning environment. The course felt disciplined and warm — exactly what an advanced training should feel like.

Lucas P. Brazil · 300 Hour TTC

The sound healing training was transformational. I came with no prior experience and left with a full working knowledge of singing bowls, session design and the confidence to facilitate groups.

Sarah M. United Kingdom · Sound Healing Course

As a yoga teacher who was pregnant myself during training, the content was both practical and deeply caring. Dr. Anu's Ayurveda sessions were extraordinary — I apply that knowledge daily.

Priya K. Singapore · Prenatal Yoga Training

Completing the full 500-hour pathway in one stay was the best decision I made. The daily schedule is intense but the environment and teachers hold you through it. Highly recommend for serious practitioners.

Marco V. Italy · 500 Hour TTC
